Princeville Kauai Real Estate Update for Aug 19 to Aug 25

Aloha from Princeville Kauai!

It’s no surprise that our real estate activity is at a bare minimum this week. The cause was Category 5 Hurricane Lane which threatened the entire Hawaiian chain all last week. Fortunately, it is now known as Tropical Storm Lane and is skirting Kauai to the South. The Big Island bore the brunt of Lane, with Hilo facing flood conditions after being pummeled with 40+ inches of rain.

As I am writing this, yet another horizontal downpour is dumping on Princeville. I’m sure Hanalei to Haena is feeling it also and I can only hope everyone stays safe. After the epic floods of April, the last thing we need is yet more rain!

As I mentioned, the pickin’s are slim this week – here is your update:

New Listings

Kaiulani 64 sold for $775K in 4/15 and is priced at $799K. Hale Moi 217 is listed for $588K. The condo was purchased in 5/83 for $85K as a leasehold unit, converting to fee simple in 5/91 for $21,200.

Price Changes:

Priced at $1.250M, 4158 Kamalani Lane is in escrow within 21 days. The home sold for $850K in 12/10.

Sales:

3783 Moae Place closed at $738K while listed for $749K. The sellers bought this home in 10/12 for $487K.
